Molly's Journey to the West

Hello friends, It’s an unseasonably warm February day here in St. Paul, MN. This morning, I sat on my back stoop in a light jacket and shorts and drank my morning cup of coffee. The slightest breeze from the south chilled my bare legs, but the warmth from the sun balanced my internal temperature. The weather reports say there is a winter storm coming by the end of the week, so soon this… Read More

Hello Friends, It seems Minneapolis/St. Paul has really come to life in the last three weeks. While walking around my neighborhood, I could smell the difference. The lilac bushes began to bloom a few weeks ago, releasing it’s wonderfully fragrant flowers. The spruce trees, which are generally sharp to the touch, have grown their new soft needles. The new growth releases a sweet, conifer kind of smell. And let’s not forget the… Read More

Hello friends, You may have noticed that I haven’t written a blog post in awhile—not since my Black Lives Matter in Minneapolis post. Between then and now, I attended a second march called the Justice for Jamar Unity March. I uploaded videos to my Youtube page, if you want to see speeches and footage of the march. Well, pertaining to my blog’s inactivity, let’s just say that I was on a hiatus. Though this… Read More

Hello friends, As I type, I am actually in Chicago: The Windy City! My sister Colleen had to go to the Chicago China Consulate to get her Chinese work-visa and I thought I might as well tag along. While Colleen gets her visa figured out, I’ll be exploring the city’s vibrant coffeehouses and freelance writing/photo editing for RootsRated. (It’s awesome being a freelancer; I can work from anywhere!). But, I’ll have to… Read More

(I only wrote 4 for the food section). Photo credit: RR + Merrel… Read More

Hello friends, As I type, I am comfy cozy on a couch, warm by the nearby fire, in the countryside of Wisconsin. Maybe you’re wondering why I’m not in Minneapolis? Well, for President’s/Valentine’s Day weekend, some girlfriends and I decided to escape the city and enjoy a quiet weekend in the woods. There is a no more romantic way to spend Valentine’s weekend than by snowshoeing across the lake, doodling, playing board… Read More

On the Woodward Valley Trail at Point Reyes National Seashore (photo credit: Colleen O’Connor) Hello friends, I have returned from San Francisco and am already missing the phenomenal dim-sum and temperate weather. Though I do love Minnesota winters, I am quite disappointed by the lack of snow. I haven’t had a chance to use my snowshoes and my skis are collecting dust! (Though I do feel bad mentioning lack of snow, especially… Read More

Hello friends, I have a life again! I finished all my writing for RootsRated and soon they will be published online. When they are available, I’ll write another post and link it to the site. This Fall has been absolutely beautiful. There was little to no rain and it was so warm up until a week ago. Thanks to this, the leaves stayed up on the trees and gave us Twin Citizens… Read More

My friend, Anka, posing on Lake Superior Hello friends, as always, I hope you are all doing well. For me, these last couple weeks have been jam packed with fun activities. The drive to Bayfield… Read More
